22nd Birthday

Last Monday, I turned 22. To me that sounds so different from 21. I had the week off for Spring Break (that is why I have been MIA) I spent my actual day driving from Texarkana to Lubbock...that would be about 9 hours of driving on my birthday. But over the week of my birthday I did lots of celebrating.

The Saturday before my birthday, I got to go on a an amazing shopping experience with Bryan's Aunts and Cousin. I would love to thank them for letting me come along, and for all the great new clothes! I have some fabulous new outfits! The picture above was at one of my favorite stores LOFT. I could go broke in that store...I actually do spend to much money there...hehe but I am kinda obsessed with clothes and shoes! :) It is my therapy! 

When I got to Lubbock with Bryan, we went bowling. I had a blast bowling. Later during the week we headed to one  of my favorite Lubbock restaurants/ wine bar called The Funky Door. It was delicious!! We had fondue, wine, a salad and a little pasta. 

Over this last weekend, to end my spring break we headed to Bryan's parents house in Big Spring for a few days. His cousin brought over some amazing cupcakes for my birthday! They were so rich I could only eat a half at a time. I froze 2 here at my apartment, I dont know how they will unthaw, but you can freeze cake so why not cupcakes!! 

Overall my birthday was fabulous! My big birthday gift to my self was a Coach purse which should be in this week (Ill blog it later) and I am going to be getting an Ipad. I am very excited about both of them! 

Sorry I have been MIA, but I am back now!

Growing Pains...

This week has a big week in my book! I have done lots of growing up! On Tuesday morning, I got up put suit that I spent more money that I would have liked on, put my big girl shoes on and got my portfolio ready to leave for my seven job interviews for the day. I have interviewed for nanny jobs before, but theses interviews were with official people from real school districts! All in all you could say my day went pretty well! I got offered a position in a school district out west on the spot. I didn't have to accept right away and honestly I was taken off guard, being offered a position on the spot was a total shock to me. I was the only one he had done that to all day and I was the 2nd to last to interview...The only down fall is its about a hour and a half from Lubbock. However, I have that security that I have a job if I can't get a job in Lubbock!

So I guess putting my big girl shoes on and growing up wasn't as painful as I thought it would be (yet by the end of the day after walking across the TCU campus 2x my feet did hurt). I feel like I came out on top, and that I will be successful in other interviews.

You Can Just Call me a Handy Gal!

Well, I thought that I got an amazing deal on this fantastic bookshelf from Kohls. The plan is for the house that I will be living in later this summer! It was originally 200 bucks and it was on Kohls.com for 35 dollars or something cheap! I had a 25% off and free shipping, so I could not pass up that awesome deal by the end its was 25 dollars. So I ordered it. It came in Friday, and so Sunday I needed to get off the couch (after that 5K read that blog below) so I decided to put together that bookshelf. I have put together furniture before so I knew I could do this, or so I had thought! I was doing fine until I had to put the sides up. I then discovered, I had 2 of the same end pieces, so the holes were drilled in the wrong spots...grr...so I sat and debated returning it, but that would have entailed shoving all pieces back in the box and taking out the 50 screw/peg things. So I then decided I would just drill my own holes in the right spots! 

So I got my handy little drill out, and my level. I went to work making my 25 dollar shelf work. After ooohh 3 hours of work...I got it together, and all of my shelves are level! I am soo proud of my self and in my handy/crafty/hard work! 

Here is my amazing shelf. I am proud to say that it is very sturdy and level! I am glad that my mom has taught me to do things on my own, and solve problems! I love this shelf and can't wait to see it in the house later this summer!
