My Fitness Journey...

I have never been the “skinny” girl. Growing up, I was always the bigger girl… or so I felt. I was always active in some type of sport growing up. It started with gymnastics, then softball, basketball, and finally volleyball. I played volleyball in Jr. High and High School. This is when I feel I was in the best shape of my life, but I still felt bigger than the other girls. In reality, yes I may have been “bigger”, but I was wearing size 4 jeans. I look back now, and I was in amazing shape weighing 130lbs!
Aug. 2008
Once I hit college, I was in a different environment, and hiding my parent’s marital issues took a toll on my weight. I gained the “freshman 15” In October, my parents just made it official they were getting a divorce, and the following week I had emergency surgery. After these two events, I sunk into a deep depression (adding on to my freshman 15) I walked by TCU’s amazing Rec Center day in and day out typically with my coke in my hand.  My weight came on like nothing!
In the spring, I felt like I needed to get my butt in gear, so I turned to Bryan’s cousin, April for advice on where to even start. She told me about the Oxygen Magazine, and told me some ideas on what to eat. Well, I ordered my subscription of Oxygen, and then my motivation quickly ended. It was VERY hard to eat healthy in dorm life, with no kitchen! I still did not step into the rec center, but I did “try” to choose healthier choices in the cafeteria. I ended my sophomore year of college at 180.

I moved into my apartment, and looked back at pictures of the summer, and I was in total shock on how big I was. So I once again turned to April for advice. At this time she just moved back to Texas, and was starting to eat clean, and work out again. This helped motivate me to get my butt moving! She bought me the clean eating book, and I renewed my subscription to Oxygen Magazine.  I ate clean about 80% of the time and tried to work out (in-between being a full time student and part time work) about 3-4 times a week.

Now 12 months later, I have lost 33 lbs, and I am down to 147lbs. I am still working out, and eating clean. I will be attending the fitness classes at TCU Rec center! My next goal is to be 135 by Christmas time!

Ohio: Camping

Every summer when I go to Ohio, we head to my Aunt and Uncle's camp in Southern Ohio for a weekend! This year I met them there on my own since I drove in...Let me tell you it was QUIET the adventure!
I got to Marietta OH, and headed up 26, toward 260...well I got to about 5 miles from the split to 260 and 26 is CLOSED...well crap...I dont know the other way up other than going ALL the way back down to Marrietta and taking 260 all the way up...and this would put me into camp while its dark and I didnt know that way....so I just had my GPS reroute me....ok people who read this blog...in Southern OH your GPS or Map may say there is a road there...but 9/10 there is no road...well this one took me to a paved road...I thought YES! Perfect...well it was a 2 mile road and half a mile down it...it turns to gravel...ok..I can do this no biggie... until I went down a huge hill and and at the bottom there was a crick....I got out looked and it wasnt deep I could drive over it...so I did...then and the bottom of the next hill there was another crick...this time a massive rock sits in the middle of it...but I was scared and stressed so I said forget it...and I closed my eyes and floored it...and to my luck.. I made it up the other side! THANK GOD! I finally got to 260 my car and me in 1 piece and made it to camp before dark...shaking and crying to find my aunt and uncle doing this!
chopping wood on...no it was chopping up a tree than had fallen on the roof of the cabin! (1st one in 15 years!)
that night we played get the ping pong ball in the cup on the other end of the room....this was because it was POURING outside!
The next day the rain stoped so we did our normal...which was send the little kids on a scavenger hunt and we sat around talking...playing cornhole...reading...and relaxing...we also took a trip to the spring!
Riley enjoyed camp! He did great!
Here is the whole gang before we headed home after our weekend at camp...the sun finally came out!!
(the amount of people who come each year varies, some times we have the cabin and tents full this time we all had plenty of room in bed!)

****My thoughts/prayers go to those on the East Coast who are about to get the wrath of Irene****

Ohio: Girls Night out!

Ok, so I am going to start on my Ohio Post....none of these are in ANY particular order on how they actually happened...just what I feel like talking about lol....I love these girls so much and girls nights are always fun! We went out to this restaurant a few towns over...I wasn't completely impressed with it. Our waiter was horrible...and i have lots of patients when it comes to those kinds of things! After dinner we went out to do some dancing!
I am sorry, but this didnt even match up to the blast that I had on girls vacation in FL a few months ago!
Beth and I...she is my partner in crime!
Here are the young girls! 2 of the aunts when to get the car and the other one took our picture! We had an early night and headed home and just had a nice girls night at home!

Just what I wanted to hear...

So, I made it to camp after I got taken on a wild/crazy detour...We spent the last few day at Salt Fork with my Aunt and her family. Now I am back with my family further North. However I got a call last night that my apartment was broken into...and they stole all of my jewelry. They could have taken so many other things...but they took some things that are not replaceable and that mean a lot to me...The also took my Wii, but that is something I could care less about at the moment. I am currently making a list of things that I think are gone, because I am not there, only going by what my roommate told me...and then I will call the Insurance company and file a claim....the weirdest thing is that I had money sitting in a money bag in my desk and they didnt take any of that...just my jewelry... so far I am up to 760 dollars in loss, and I am waiting on a quote on one of my class rings....blah...this sucks to hear on vacation, but what can I do...I am just so frustrated and confused because the officer I talked to said there was no evidence of a forced entry...so either the door was left unlocked or it was done by someone with a key...The locks are getting changed in the next few days....but I dont even think that will keep me from worrying...lovely start to a vacation huh?
