Florida Weather..

The last few days we have had warm, and very humid weather here...and it makes me think back to Florida. By no means do I like this weather! I walked outside yesterday morning, and instantly thought eewww! But then I started to flash back to this last summer, and the blast that I had!

As I walked Riley around for his morning walk, I thought of the crazy Indian lady Morgan and I encountered one night at Epcot! We had staked out our spot for fireworks, and this lady comes and sits by us. Its normal for people you don't know to just talk to you at DW. She thought we were weird because as Americans we eat meat, pizza, and then asked us our weight! She was a total nut job! Then I got up to go buy a coffee (long days) the Indian woman's husband came and took my spot where I was sitting, and when Morgan said something she ignored her! Morgan and I just moved because she was crazy, and was bothering us! Morgan and I had many laughs about her! I found my self laughing while on my walking thinking of this story! 

Here is a video from where we ended up standing! The wind had shifted after we found our new spot, and it blew all the smoke from the fireworks in the direction of that lady....Karma!

 

This story/memory stemmed from the weather! Then later that day in Education Psychology we discussed how your memory stores things. The simple action, feeling, or event that you did or encountered will trigger that memory or emotions! It was really cool! 

So just because of the overly humid and warm weather, it triggered that and many other memories! I could share many other memories, but that one just made me laugh that morning!

P.S Only 77 days until Girls vacation, I can not wait! My cousin Julie and I are planning our own mini trip in the middle of Girls, or tacked on at the end!! Just a few days doing something we really want to do while on Girls Vaca! 

I am now a fan...

Honestly, I have never really been a fan of American Idol. I watched it the first season, and I loved it. Then as it went from season 1 to season 6, I slowly stopped watching American Idol. But this season, this season is different. Why? Because of this guy! 

Umm..so in my opinion...hes is awesome! However, you can call me bias, because he graduated from TCU last May, and has done a video for TCU football game on breast cancer...So I hope you vote this season too! Here is his latest performance....I just love him!

This Week...

This week has been completely...crazy...to say the least! I have written more lesson plans than I think that I have had to write in a whole semester. Yes, I know that this is going to be my career, but I will have a purpose to write them for and they will not have to be as detailed and amazingly perfect like I am expected to do right now!
I have seen 2 am roll around, the last 3 nights...and I am hoping that tonight is not the same! I am ready for tomorrow night to roll around, so I can sleep early and sleep more than 5 hours!
I know that this blog post was me venting, but I needed to! I am beyond ready for spring break to roll around, and even better May, when Girls Vacation is going to happen :) I need to be with these women,

and just let loose, and be my self for a week. They wont place judgments on me for having fun and being my self.  We will have a blast and yes, some people out there may think that things we do are not right or proper. But I dont care, we are a family and have done crazy things that people dont understand or agree with my whole life!

Uhhhgg...

Today started fantastic, but tonight I am just getting more frustrated and I feel like I want to scream!! 

As much as I like to wear tank tops, shorts, and no coat. I really miss this weather. 

Mother Nature, would you please send more of this white fluffy stuff back our way! I hope that my feeling of wanting to scream doesn't last all week! Hope you all have a great start to your week! 

I can see it!

So here are two pictures where I can really see the difference in my loss and I am still loosing!

I was 175 in this picture (late summer 2010)

I didn't start this diet until late October. But my starting weight was the same as this picture! I absolutely hate hate this picture...and it makes me super sad to look at it, and see how big I was and didn't even realize it...

This was taken beginning of December (2010) I was at 160. 

That was about a 15 pound decrease in about a month and a half! I am so proud of this! In March I will take another and post all 3 of them! I can't wait to see how I will look then! 

I have been doing all of this while eating clean, and very organically! 

Speaking of eating Organically! We have a new store here in the area called Sprouts, and they sell almost 80% Organic things, and much cheaper than Central Market! I get my Organic Dairy products and fruits and veggies at Sprouts! I love the prices, and love that they are healthy for me :) 

I hope that you are all having a fantastic week! This week has been crazy! Since we had 5 snow days in a 2 week span, all of my tests, projects, and lesson plans due this week! Along with all of this, I was sick on top of it! I have a terrible cold. I started to get it Sunday night, and I still have it :( Dang crazy Texas weather!

Clean Eating

So, I have been doing this clean eating lifestyle for a month or so now. I absolutely love it! I have a ton more energy, and I have lost about 9 pounds. (I had a bit of set back over Super Bowl Weekend!) I have found many links that I really have gotten some good info off of! Here is one that I recently found!

Winter Break II cont.

So last night/ early this morning we got another sheet of ice and more snow! But these pictures are from when I went out to play in the snow last Thursday!

Although Riley looks really mad, he really loved the snow! I would take him to the dog park and he would run run in the snow! He loved it! 

Snow Picture! (this was after I fell on my arm and before I fell down the stairs on my butt) With all the slipping and falling, all I could really do was laugh! See the large amount of snow on my left arm? Yep thats what caught my fall :'(  I am happy to say that it doesn't hurt anymore, but man I was bruised on my elbow, hip, and butt..for day! 

I dont think that this sweet boy will complain about moving to the North where snow is not such a strange sight! I didn't take any pictures today, even though Riley and I went on a walk in the snow! After  my 4 snow days last week, I didn't like what the scale had to tell me, so today I decided we would at least go on a cold walk! Riley loved it, but my ears didn't! 

When we got home, I finished some projects for school, and then worked on my valentines day cards!  

Love.....Hate....and Super Bowl Sunday

Ok, so in the spirit of the week, I am going to talk about a few things/people that I love, or have loved! Today I am going to tell you about a love/hate relationship I have!

The scale, some days I really love it, and some days I would love to throw it out the window! I know that the scale is perfectly honest, day in and out, but some times I don't like it :) The days I see a - I am happy, but the days I see a + or just no change, I want to scream! Then there are the days that the darn thing wont let me do the weight tracking use on it, and that makes me want to throw it out the window! 

Ok...now onto Super Bowl Sunday!

Well, I stayed home, and made Bryan a few things he wanted, and then we had a nice clean dinner :)

Some yummy cream cheese stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon! (I had to try one, but the rest were Bryan's)

Next I made my first fully organic recipe :), Cool Creamy Jalapeno Ranch Dip (Bryan's request)

This was our diner! Tilapia, brown rice, and asparagus! Yum! (This was Bryan's plate) This meal has become a favorite here at the apartment! I eat it every other night! But I switch out the veggies! 

We also had some salsa from Central Market! I hope you had a great Super Bowl Sunday! I know I did, I just laid around in my pjs after church! 

Monday after 6 days off...HORRIBLE

Last week I had 4 days off from school due to weather, and then a 2 day weekend. Lets just say Monday was not welcoming! We are sopose to get round two of snow fest 2011 on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, so that could mean another day off, two if I am lucky! We got about 6 inches of snow on Thursday night, and I went to play in it at midnight! However, there was still a thick layer of ice under that snow. I had ooohh... 3 wipeouts! One down a set of 3 stairs, then another on my arm (I think I sprained it :S) , then once on my butt....I am overly sore from falling today!
I was sopose to start my nanny job last week, but with the bad weather, I didn't, so I start tomorrow! I am actually very excited about this! This family/child seems to be amazing. Although I will miss my old family, and sad that my schedule didn't work for them!

I will post picture from my midnight outing into the snow, superbowl sunday, and a recipe soon! First I have to get over the case of the Monday Blues, and study for a test!

Winter Break II

So on Tuesday, here at TCU, we began our Winter Break II sponsored by Mother Nature herself!

I awoke at 430 Tuesday morning, to sleet/ freezing rain hitting my bedroom window. I turned on the tv and dozed in and out for about a hour until TCU sent us the text saying NO SCHOOL!

I had to adventure out however, it was on foot to take Riley out to go potty! I nearly busted my butt with the first step out the door! I wore 2 shirts, a hoodie, a coat, 2 scarves, leggings, sweats, 2 pair of socks, and my rain boots :) I do have my furry winter boots, but I have not scotch guarded them yet, so I wore the next best thing, the purple rain boots! 

The roads were solid ice! Even cars driving over it did not make it crack! We didn't have class Wednesday either...

Or...Thursday....

And now we dont have school Friday (not that I have class on Fridays anyway!) 

So my roommate and I began to get cabin fever! 

We walked to Walgreens to get out, and get a puzzle and a snack! 

We watch Sex in the City, American Idol, and did our puzzle! The last 3 days I had many cups of tea, and lots of time under blankets! We had rolling power outages and such! We are suppose to get more snow tomorrow and on Monday! Just in time for the Super Bowl in our town! Not only are we expecting a ton of extra people, but more snow on top of the ice we have! This could turn out to be a interesting weekend! Now I am off to celebrate Winter Break II! Stay Warm!
